
Directions to LMAC Airfield
LMAC airfield contains a 50' X 650' Blacktop Runway, a 60' X 650' Grass Runway, 2- 160' Control Line circles (one is blacktop). There is also a 30’ X 40’ shelter structure, 4 covered pit areas, picnic tables, trash barrels, and a PortaPottie for the comfort of the members and visitors. Once inside the flying site a 2400' blacktop road leads from the Landfill road to the gravel parking area.
Directions
From Lexington, take 1-64 east to the BLUEGRASS STATION (Exit 87), first Exit east of I-75 and I-64 split, at the top of the ramp, turn North, to the access road just North of the Exit. Turn right (East) on to Rockwell Road and proceed about a mile. Then, turn left into the landfill entrance (ie, Hedger Lane). There is a electric gate at the entrance of Hedger lane that will be closed when the landfill is closed. Only LMAC members can open the gate, if it is closed. Proceed on Hedger Lane for approximately 1 mile and you will see a gated road on the right with LMAC sign. Enter that gate and follow the Blacktop Road through the pasture to the actual flying site.
