The Lexington Model Airplane Club ( LMAC )
  • has a premier airfield (650 ft asphalt runway) with 50 years of model aviation history in Lexington, KY.   See airfield photo below.
  • Our goal is to promote model aviation as a sport and recreational activity as well as providing educational assistance to schools and do other community service activities.
  • 501(c)3  non-profit Kentucky corporation.
  • hosts 4 flying events and a swap meet each year.
  • has approximately 130 members
  • fly RC airplanes, RC helicopters, RC multi-rotor and control line model aircraft.
  • Insured by the national organization, Academy of Model Aeronautics, Inc. (AMA).  Model aircraft are operated in accordance with a community-based set of safety guidelines and within the programming of a nationwide community-based organization
  • Free RC flight training for club members.
  • Membership is open to anyone.  Visitors invited to any of our activities !!  All pilots must have AMA insurance card, club membership and knowledge of airfield rules to fly.
